About Kevin

Kevin is a vastly experienced litigator with considerable expertise in commercial, corporate and contractual disputes. He previously spent seven years at Eversheds before moving to North East firm Muckle, where he was a Partner from 2009.

He is described by Legal 500 as "a very good technical lawyer and strategist" (2016), a solicitor with "the type of knowledge and experience that can make a real difference to cases" (2017) and a "technically superb and brilliant tactician" (2018).

Key Experience

Advising on contractual disputes relating to the sale and supply of goods and services. Matters have varied from multi-million pound disputes over the supply of cooling towers by a US company to straightforward domestic breach of contract claims.
Partnership disputes: Acted on many partnership disputes including those between solicitors, doctors, architects and various other commercial enterprises.
Shareholder disputes: Acted for companies, majority and minority shareholders. Extensive experience of unfair prejudice petitions and the grounds upon which relief can be sought and obtained.
Professional negligence: Advised on claims against solicitors, architects, dentists and other professionals.
Fraud and misfeasance: Acted for directors facing allegations that they acted inappropriately or otherwise mis-used the powers vested in them. Significant experience in undertaking fraud recovery proceedings to recover mis-appropriated assets. This has included acting for high street banks and other PLC’s in seeking to recover fraud proceeds through the use of procedures including freezing injunctions and asset tracing.
Construction: Acted on arbitrations, adjudications and disputes in the Technology and Construction Court. This includes ICC Arbitration proceedings where the seat of the arbitration was Liege, Belgium.
Judicial Review: Principally representing educational institutions. Further clients have included a consortium of law firms threatened with losing their franchise contracts.
A member of the team appointed to gather evidence for the Harold Shipman and Bloody Sunday Independent Inquiries.
Lectured on various matters including private law rights, restitution and fraud recovery.
